  • When is a 2008 Code Update Certificate required ?

    • When electrical licenses are renewed December of 2010 a 2008 Code Update Certificate will be required .


  • Do I have to take the class now ?

    • No.

    The only reasons for taking the class now are to save money with the discounted class cost and not having to worry about the rush of getting into the class at the last minute.

    Personally, we believe it is wise to to do it now to save money and have your State file updated by us ahead of time to make your renewal quicker and easier.

  • Is your Internet Code Update Class State approved?

    • Yes.

    Our Code Update classes are fully approved by Michigan for electrical license renewal.  Approval # 09-013-08.

  • What Code does Michigan Require?

    • The 2008 NEC Code is the current Code of record.

     
  • Can someone without good computer skills take the class?

    Yes.
    If you can read this, then you will be able to handle the class just fine. We will help you get started.

  • What do I need to attend the class ?

    • Access to any PC (connected to the internet) and an e-mail address.


  • Do I have to follow a schedule ?

    • No.

    You decide when and how much time you spend each time you login to the class.

    Spend as little or as much time as you want each class session.

    What matters is that you follow the class material and accumulate 15 hours of class study time.


  • How much time does it take to complete the class?

    • 15 hrs of online class instruction.
     
     
  • Can I take the class from any PC ?

    • Yes.

    You may login to the class from any PC anywhere that is connected to the internet.

    You choose: from home, work, military, library or wherever.

     
  • When are the classes available ?

    • Classes are available 24/7.

    Each registered student will have full access to the class for sixty (60) days. Longer time extensions are allowed if you need more time.

    Login whenever you want.
     

  • Can I get help, if I need it ?

    • Yes.

  • What books will I need ?

    • While NOT required, you should have access to: a 2008 Code Book.

     
  • Do I have to buy a Code book ?

    • No.

    You only need access to the Code book. If you do not already have a book, some student borrow it, use one from a library or purchase.  It's completely up to you.

  • Is a "separate test" required to complete the class?

    • NO!   * * EVERYTHING IS DONE ONLINE * *

    Everything, including quizzes are completed online, with no time limit.

  • How much is the 2008 online class cost ?


    • The 2008 Code Update Class cost is $149. Code book not included.

    For your convenience, we automatically send your class completion information to the State for you (one less thing for you to worry about).  This will save time and headaches when you do renew your license.
